The first known case was identified in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wuhan\">Wuhan<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/China\">China<\/a>, in December 2019. The disease has since spread worldwide, leading to an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/COVID-19_pandemic\">ongoing pandemic<\/a>. COVID-19 most often causes respiratory\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/symptoms-testing\/symptoms.html\">symptoms<\/a>\u00a0that can feel much like a cold, a flu, or pneumonia. COVID-19 may attack more than your lungs and respiratory system. Other parts of your body may also be affected by the disease. Most people with COVID-19 have mild symptoms, but some people become severely ill. Some people including those with minor or no symptoms may suffer from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/long-term-effects\/index.html\">post-COVID conditions<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 or \u201clong COVID\u201d. Older adults and people who have\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/need-extra-precautions\/people-with-medical-conditions.html?CDC_AA_refVal=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cdc.gov%2Fcoronavirus%2F2019-ncov%2Fneed-extra-precautions%2Fgroups-at-higher-risk.html\">certain underlying medical conditions<\/a>\u00a0are at increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19. Hundreds of thousands of people have died from COVID-19 in the United States. Vaccines against COVID-19 are\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/safety\/safety-of-vaccines.html\">safe and effective<\/a>. Vaccines teach our immune system to fight the virus that causes COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">India officially launched its COVID-19 vaccination drive on 16.01.2021, with two approved vaccines \u2013 Covishield and Covaxin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Smt S M Shah Pharmacy College has also extended its hands to fight against Covid-19 pandemic. SSMSPC had organized Vaccination drives to Students at college premises in collaboration with Health department Mahemdabad. \u00a0Vaccination drive was organized on 7<sup>th<\/sup> January 2022 for students aged 15 to 17 years.
